2009 AOH TOUR - 9 DAYS, 8 NIGHTS

 

29th January 2010
Evening
departure from airport and with airline of your choice to Dublin Airport, Ireland.
30th January
Arrive Dublin airport,clear customs and meet your driver-guide and begin your journey north to Derry. Mass at Derry AOH Hall.(City Hotel, Derry)
31st January
Attend Bloody Sunday memorial service in Bogside, participate in the afternoon historic 38th commemoration march, dinner at Derry AOH Hall, evening on your own. (B) (City Hotel, Derry)   
1st February
This morning we head east through the Sperrin Mountains to Toome at the top of Lough Neagh enroute to Belfast City.  Time in Belfast will include a visit to Milltown Cemetery, a meet with Sinn Fein on the Falls Road and a possible vist to Stormont.  Continue south to Newry for overnight.(B)(Canal Court Hotel, Newry)
2nd February 
Today we tour South Armagh with visits to Crossmaglen and St. Patrick's Trian which tells about the life of St. Patrick. Return to Newry for overnight. (B)(Canal Court Hotel, Newry)
3rd February
Today we travel south to the pre-Christian burial site at Newgrange and the seat of the High Kings at the Hill of Tara.  Continue south to Wexford for overnight. (B,D) (Talbot Hotel, Wexford)
4th February
Today we take an historic tour of Enniscorthy to include "Vinegar Hill" and the 1798 Centre.  Return to Wexford town for a free afternoon to explore and shop.

5th February 
This morning head north along the coastline of the Irish Sea to Gorey.  Visit the 6th century monastic settlement of St. Kevin of Glendalough.  Travel over the Wicklow and Dublin Mountains enroute to Dublin city for overnight. Dinner and entertainment this evening as Dublin's oldest pub, "The Brazenhead". (B, D) (Mont Clare Hotel, Dublin)
6th February
Today you can opt to have a complete free day for personal activities and last minute shopping in the capital.  Your tour escort will provide whatever assistance and information you may need. (B) (Mont Clare Hotel, Dublin)
7th February   
Depart to Dublin Airport for return flight home.
